Universe Was Created From Smoke

UNIVERSE WAS CREATED FROM SMOKE

This article by wikiislam author  is just absurd based on ideology " I do not accept." He says that asked Quranic miracle UNIVERSE WAS CREATED FROM SMOKE is not right and he gives vain arguments regarding his claim.The verse is;

"Moreover he turned to sky when it was DUKHAN. He ordered for it and for Earth come into existence willingly or unwillingly. They said we come into being in willing obedience." 41;11

He as an argument says that Universe was never (a smoke containing carbon and vapors etc.) and provides the meaning of English word "smoke" without noticing that translations are usually referenced and no word of English can rightly express the meaning of DUKHAN. LEt us see the meaning of Dukhan;
We read in Dic. of Holy Quran page 175
"DUKHAN, smoke,gas,vaporous matter with suspended particles,fume resembling smoke,colored smoke, dust etc."
The Muslim claim is that this verse is a scientific miracle of Quran which describes that Universe was at a time in the form of something like gas like smoke and vaporous matter with suspended particles colored dust like etc.This closely resembles scientific nebula which was the cause of creation of stars and skies. The definition of nebula which one can easily see at google.com is
   "a cloud of gas and dust in outer space''
Moreover nebula is also colored several times like Lagoon nebula etc. Several non-muslims also accepted this miracle of Holy Koran.

 We read in The Way The World Works By John. R Carpenter page 42-43

"Modern Cosmology says that immediately after the big bang,the whole Universe was an opaque,highly dense, and hot gaseous composition now called a nebula.New stars can be seen forming out of the remnants of that nebula.From the Quran we read,
 Then He turned to the Heaven when it was smoke"
The word smoke could be considered equivalent to nebula,in which case it could be interpreted that the above quotation from the Quran is in concert at least with the origin of our universe."

We read in World Terrorism:Diagnosis and path to global peace by Taiwo ,Victor Olu page 108-109

"The science of modern cosmology, observational and theoretical, clearly indicates that, at one point in time, the whole universe was nothing but a cloud of ‘smoke’ (i.e. an opaque highly dense and hot gaseous composition).This is one of the undisputed principles of standard modern cosmology.  Scientists now can observe new stars forming out of the remnants of that ‘smoke. The illuminating stars we see at night was just as was the whole universe in that 'smoke'......................."

We read in The First Three Minutes, a Modern View of the Origin of the Universe, Weinberg, pp. 94-105.

"The science of modern cosmology, observational and theoretical, clearly indicates that, at one point in time, the whole universe was nothing but a cloud of ‘smoke’ (i.e. an opaque highly dense and hot gaseous composition)."

Dr. Alfred Kroner is one of the world’s renowned geologists.   He is Professor of Geology and the Chairman of the Department of Geology at the Institute of Geosciences, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany.  He said: “Thinking where Muhammad came from . . . I think it is almost impossible that he could have known about things like the common origin of the universe, because scientists have only found out within the last few years, with very complicated and advanced technological methods, that this is the case.”Also he said: “Somebody who did not know something about nuclear physics fourteen hundred years ago could not, I think, be in a position to find out from his own mind, for instance, that the earth and the heavens had the same origin.” The video proof of this statement is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_t-OnocnPg

You will see at websites like that wikiislam.net and others that Professor Alferd Kroner refuted these lines a new interview. We advice all those who read this blog that first see that interview and then judge what he has said.
Moreover wikislam author says that the correct word instead of DUKHAN is GHAZ . When we see its meaning it means petrol, gasoline, gas etc. Moreover it is not present in old dictionaries of Arabic.They say that Earth was not present when Sky was created. The translation done by me clearly says that The order to come into existence was for skies and Earth both and they said to come into being in willing obedience. It does not mean that it was said to oth at same time.
It is clear that Holy Quran rightly said UNIVERSE WAS ONCE DUKHAN.

Earth And Skies Were Ripped Apart ?

EARTH AND SKIES WERE RIPPED APART

The following is the verse quoted by wikiislam,s author ;

" Do not the disbelievers see that Earth and Heavens were joined together as a singularity, we separated them apart" Chapter no. 21 verse no.30
The above translation done by me is taken from Brill page 327, Mufridat e Raghib, Lughat ul Quran , Tafseer e Namoona etc.
Here are various English Translations;
Sahih International: Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them
Pickthall: Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them
Mohsin Khan: Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them?
Arberry: Have not the unbelievers then beheld that the heavens and the earth were a mass all sewn up, and then We unstitched them.
This translation can also be found in several Muslim interpretations.We see in Tafseer Durr e Mansoor Vol 4 page 833
"Imam Ibn e Jareer quoted from Hazrat Ibn e Abbas(RA) under WERE JOINED TOGETHER that Earth and skies were joined together."
On this page it is written
"Imam ibn al Munzar and Imam Hatim quoted from Qatada that Earth and heavens were joined together and Allah separated them with air"

The following verse of Holy Quran says that the universe was a singularity before Allah separated it in Earth and seven Heavens. According to big bang theory the universe was a singularity at the time of its creation in the form of a small large Energy ball which started expanding 13.8 billion years and which resulted in its separation into Skies including stars and earths. Allah is not describing how this separation was done rather it is described in another verse of Holy Quran Chapter 51 verse 47;

"Indeed we had created the heaven with our hands and we are still Expanding it."

The problem with wikiislam author and other so called debunkers is that Earth was not present at that time. let me answer by asking a question that Was Earth not a part of that singularity? They will say that It was, but not in its present situation rather it was created 4.9 years ago and so on....... but Quran use the word EARTH  and also the next verse says We created mountains on it.Let me ask if next verse says that we created mountains on it, then it means the previous state of Earth was not like as it today because mountains are like strong nails on it according to Quran. How can you justify that in this verse the word ARZ refers to today Earth rather in other verses Allah Says WE CREATED EARTH IN TWO ERAS which is passed in a previous article?If this verse says that universe was a singularity than it is surely compatible with big bang theory. If Holy Quran says we are still expanding it then it is surely compatible with Big Bang.

Earth Created before stars ?

Earth Created before stars RESPONSE:

The author of wikiislam.net under this article quotes two verses from Holy Quran which are

Then turned He to the heaven when it was smoke, and said unto it and unto the earth: Come both of you, willingly or loth. They said: We come, obedient. Then He ordained them seven heavens in two Days and inspired in each heaven its mandate; and We decked the nether heaven with lamps, and rendered it inviolable. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Knower.  41;11-12

and  the second one is

It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things. 2;29

After quoting these verses he says
Some websites attempt to reconcile the Qur'anic description with modern science by denying that the word 'Then' in the verses above indicate sequence, and instead claim that it means 'moreover'. They claim this despite the fact that these words (thumma in 41:11 and 2:29, and fa in 41:12 - all translated as 'Then') generally are used to indicate sequence. In other contexts thumma was sometimes used to mean 'moreover', which is generally clear from those contexts, but the passages quoted above describe a process - the creation of the heavens and Earth, and it would be ludicrous to use these words when describing such a process if they were not indicating sequence.
REPLY

Let us analyze the claim of wikiislam author.

First of all he must know that these verses are differential among Muslim interpreters
We read in Tibyan ul Quran by Allama Ghulam Rasool Saeedi Vol 1 page 328

" Scholars have differences on the issue that whether Earth is created first or sky"

Now it is clear that the interpretation of these verses is differential and it is differential till when the interpretation is started. Now in differences people are free to choose the interpretation they feel better and which is according to their knowledge and which is also underpinned by other verses of Holy Quran and sayings of Masoomen.
We read in Holy Quran Chapter 79 verse 30

" And after that He spread the earth"

We find in Nahjul Balagha address 1 that Heaven was created first.

We read in Tafseer ibn e Kaseer vol1 under verse 2 29

" QATADA RA believe that Heaven was created before Earth"

Meaning of word Thumma;
The word thumma has several meanings;

We read in Hans Wehr 4th Edition page 127
thumma means "then,thereupon,furthermore,moreover,and again"

We read in Lanes Lexicon page 351
"It does not necessarily denote order, but has the meaning ;and;"

We read in DIc. of Quran by M.G. Farid page 117
" This particle is also used in sense of And"

We read in Mufridat e Imam Raghib page 178
" This conjunction describes delay whether it is by the thing itself or by Quality"

We read in Lughat ul Quran page 404
"It is not necessary that the word thumma always is in the sense of sequence it also means 'And'...... an example of it is 2;29 ' ..............And he heeded to the sky and set it in seven' If we translate it as 'then' it will mean that Earth was created before Heaven but from Surah Naziat 79;30 we get first Heavens were created . It is further described by 21;30.....It is clear that in the verse 2;29 thumma is not used in the meaning of sequence "

Why to use  "And", " Moreover" here ;

These words must be used because of the context.We read in previous verses of both of the verses cited by wikiislams author ;
" How can you disbelieve in Allah''2; 28
or
"Do indeed disbelieve in He who"41;9

From these words it is clear that Allah is describing the things which are worth-pondering for them. So the words "moreover,and" are better to translate here. While in Chapter 79 there is clear sequence which clears that Heaven was created before Earth. The word BAAD is used meaning AFTER.So author of wikiislam! it is not ludicrous to use thumma without meaning of sequence. It is used because of their quality among the thoughts of people.It is used because people think first about their surroundings and then high above sky. The attempt to prove thumma only means sequence is like to prove ENGLISH word 'Then'only means sequence. It is clear from Longmann English Dictionary page 1826 that English word 'then' is also used to add something to that you are discussing. The word thumma is also used to add something to what you are previously talking.Allah is describing his traces.Firstly he described Earth and then sky.
Same is the opinion of Ayoutullah Nasir Makarim Sherazi in Tafseer e Namoona,Qazi Thana Ullah pani Patti in Tafseer e Mazhari, Molana Ahmad yar Khan Naeemi in Tafseer e Naeemi and Molana Syed Zafar Hussain in Tafseer Ul Quran etc.
Wikiislams author has no right to prove that this means ''Earth created before Heavens'' because it is a differential problem among interpreters and so Muslims must discuss together what it means.

Yusuf Ali: It is He Who hath created for you all things that are on earth; Moreover His design comprehended the heavens, for He gave order and perfection to the seven firmaments; and of all things He hath perfect knowledge.

Above discussion clarifies that in the verses 2;29 and 41;11-12 the word thumma means ''moreover,and'' and sequence is not described.
Author of wikiislam should not claim the Holy Quran verses as error rather he should ask it as a question upon Muslim.

Creation of Universe In Six Days Answer ?

CREATION OF UNIVERSE IN SIX DAYS ANSWER

Allah created universe in six AYYAM several verses indicate it as

Your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six Ayyam and then settled Himself firmly on the Throne... (Qur'an, 7:54)
Similarly the same is referred in other verses as 32:4, 10:3, 11:7, 25:59, 57:4, 50:38

Let us look at the meaning of ayyam. There are more than 20 Muslim Interpretations which discuss the meaning of Ayyam as eras.Imam Raghib says in his Mufridat;

"And in Arabic it is indefinitely used for time and era no matter the time is how much large (whether it is an year or a century or 1000 years)" page 621 and 622

Here are few Hadiths which says the meaning of Ayyam as eras;

1.  Imam AS "It means six eras"   Tafseer e Qummi vol1 page 236

2. Hazrat Ali AS said " If Allah wanted to create he can also do in a micro second but the reason of  its creation slowly and in eras is to make example for its responsible (people) and to complete his HUJJAH"     Al Ehtijaj vol1 page 379

3. Imam As " Six days means Six eras"   Tafseer Burhan

Allah says in 41;9
 "Is it that ye Deny Him (Allah) Who created the earth in two days"

Here is a very simple proof that six eras equal to 13.8 billion years which is according to modern science.
Scientists found that the age of Earth is 4.6 Billion Years. According to Quran this equals to two eras. Dividing 4.6 by 2 we will get 2.3 Billion Years. It means one era equals to 2.3 Billion Years. According to Holy Quran six eras will be equal to age of Universe. Now multiply 2.3 by 6 we will get 13.8 Billion Years. This is the age of Universe according to modern science.

CITATION.
1. Go to google.com write " age of our solar system" you will see on your front 4.6 Billion years
2. Go to google .com write "age of universe " you will see on the screen approximately 13.8 Billion years.
Moreover the claim of wikiislam also contains age of universe as 13.8 Billion years.

So, there should remain no problem to non Muslims in accepting the Quranic verses because they are clearly compatible with modern science. We have proved from hadiths and Lexicon that six days mean six eras and six eras equal to the correct age of universe by the reference of age of Earth according to Holy Quran.

Interpretation of verse; "Stars are missile shots at devils"

Stars are missile shots at devils,Response;
This is what wikiIslams author says
The Qur'an says that stars (kawakib ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ) / lamps (masabih مَصَٰبِيحَ) adorn the heavens and guard against devils.
The author of the Qur'an does not seem to know the difference between stars (giant balls of gas thousands of times larger than the earth) and meteors which are small rocky masses of debris which brighten up after entering the earth's atmosphere. Many ancient people confused the two, as meteors look like stars that are streaking across the sky; this is why there were often called shooting stars or falling stars. In the following verse, the Qur'an claims that Allah uses stars as missiles to ward away devils. This repeats a common Arab myth at the time the Qur'an was first recited.
We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars, (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty,Save him who snatcheth a fragment, Except such as snatch away something by stealth, and they are pursued by a flaming fire, of piercing brightness.
Qur'an 37:6-10
The same Arabic words are used at the start of verse 67:5 as in 37.6 (زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا), except the stars are described as lamps. Clearly the lamps that 'beautify the heaven' refer to stars (and perhaps also the 5 visible planets), which are always there. Meteors are generally not much larger than grains of sand and are only visible for a second when they burn up, generating light in the Earth's atmosphere after millions of years in darkness, but the author of the Qur'an believes that meteors (the 'missiles') are a kind of star.
And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame.
Qur'an 67:5

In Sahih Muslim we have a hadith confirming that the pursuing flames / missiles in the two verses refer to what we would call meteors which they saw shooting across the sky.
'Abdullah. Ibn 'Abbas reported: A person from the Ansar who was amongst the Companions of Allah's Messenger (pbuh reported to me: As we were sitting during the night with Allah's Messenger (pbuh), a meteor shot gave a dazzling light. Allah's Messenger (pbuh) said: What did you say in the pre-Islamic days when there was such a shot (of meteor)? They said: Allah and His Messenger know best (the actual position), but we, however, used to say that that very night a great man had been born and a great man had died, whereupon Allah's Messenger pbuh) said: (These meteors) are shot neither at the death of anyone nor on the birth of anyone. Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, issues Command when He decides to do a thing. Then (the Angels) supporting the Throne sing His glory, then sing the dwellers of heaven who are near to them until this glory of God reaches them who are in the heaven of this world. Then those who are near the supporters of the Throne ask these supporters of the Throne: What your Lord has said? And they accordingly inform them what He says. Then the dwellers of heaven seek information from them until this information reaches the heaven of the world. In this process of transmission (the jinn snatches) what he manages to overhear and he carries it to his friends. And when the Angels see the jinn they attack them with meteors. If they narrate only which they manage to snatch that is correct but they alloy it with lies and make additions to it.
REPLY

The first line by the wikiIslam,s author is wrong.He said that Kwakib and Masabeh both mean star which is a wrong thing. kwakib means star it is right but masabih also means star is not right. Masabih means lamps and it is used metaphorically because there is no meaning of misbah as star. Many of Muslim interpreters new and old ones have written in their tafsirs that the meaning of this verse is beyond their knowledge and knowledge of their time See Tafsir Jalalain, Tafseer roh ul Maani Tafseer e Namoona . They did not know about meteors so they translated as stars. Now look at the metaphor beautifully manifested. Misbah is chiragh if we look at its manufacturing it is made of stone ( which is mud dried and hardened) and have a flame on one end.If we through the chiragh like the motion of meteors ,it will provide the same scene.Hence Masabih was a metaphor which could not be understood by the interpreters and people of that time so they took stars from them. The verses 37- 6-10 does not have any demor. The only proof by them is the hadith of Sahih Muslim which does not discusses the meaning of Misbah in that verse but it is a conversation between Holy Prophet SAW and some non Muslims . The words used are shooting stars .As we have already discussed in the section about verse regarding Hazrat Abraham As that Prophets always talk in the language of people talking with them. So he used the word shooting star. There is no reason to translate the word Misbah as star but one have to translate according to his knowledge and knowledge of his time.

Dul Qurnain and setting of sun in murky pool.

Dul Qaranain and sun setting

The Qur'an assumes a flat earth which has physical places into which the sun sets and rises from. Since the earth is a rotating sphere, the sun does not set in any particular place and you can never travel to "the spot" where the sun sets nor a place where it rises; the sun appears to set or rise on the horizon no matter where you are on the planet. In these verses, the author propagates a popular legend from the 7th century of a man named Dhu'l-Qarnayn who visits the places where the sun sets and rises; here he finds the sun going down into a muddy spring and later rising on a tribe with no coverings.
Till, when he reached the setting-place of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a people thereabout. We said: O Dhu'l-Qarneyn! Either punish or show them kindness.
Qur'an 18:86
Till, when he reached the rising-place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no shelter therefrom.
Qur'an 18:90
Centuries after Muhammad lived, people with better astronomical knowledge than him started to come up with creative interpretations of these verses to say that Dhu'l-Qrnayn only traveled until he reached "the west" or to a spot "at the time" when the sun set and not the "place" where the sun set. Unfortunately, these alternative interpretations are severely undermined by the context and Arabic words used in these verses, which instead point to a physical location. There is plenty of evidence showing that the early Muslims understood the verse in this straightforward way. Again, we must ask why an all-knowing being would use such misleading verses that mimic the misconceptions and legends prevalent at the time if one of these alternative explanations is correct.

Let us make the translation of above verse and analyze it and wikiislam,s author objections.

"Until when he reached the utmost of his course towards his supposed destination (i.e) the place where sunsets and he felt there as if sun is disappearing in a murky pool."

Here are references to translate above verse.

Balagha also means to reach utmost of ones course towards one,s destination
see Lane,s lexicon page 250
Dictionary of Quran by M.G Farid page 86
Mufridat Alfaz ul Quran (Urdu) page 139
wjada also means to feel
see Hans Wehr 4th Edition page 1231
Lanes Lexicon page 2924
Now above translation leaves no objection.They make two major objections;
1.The holy Quran says he reached the place of sunset and there is no such place on Earth hence it contradicts science and logic
2.He Dhul Qarnain found sun setting

Answers
We admit that Maghrib Al Shams means the place where sunsets. Wikiislam author turned his blood into water just to prove that Maghrib Al Shams means the place where sunsets.But they did not  focus on word balagha which also describes to reach the utmost of ones path toward some place.Actually the Quran refers it .That is why many interpreters made translation " He reached the utmost of Maghrib". see Tafsir e Safi. The second thing is that wajadaha also means to perceive ,to feel.Hence there remains no demor.There is no Tafsir present describing that these words Maghrib Al Shams describe physical place of sunset.Instead the made the interpretation that it means he reached the utmost of Maghrib. There is no such Sahih Hadith proving that sun sets in a murky pool.Although there are few Hadiths quoted by wikiislam,s author which are Daef and only present in some middle class Tafsirs as Tafseer Durr e Mansoor which just focused on quoting hadiths about each verse of Holy Quran .Many of them are Daeef. We again quote the Hadith regarding the motion of sun quoted by us in our first article.
It is recorded in Musnad Imam Abi Ishaq Hamdani

  "Ibn e Abbas narrated thet Holy Prophet SAW was asked ,Where does the sun set and where does it rise from?The messenger of Allah answered ,"It is going in a regular motion: It does not cease or disappear .It sets in one place and rises in another, it sets in one place and rises in another and so on.So some people will say that sun has set while some will say that it has just risen."
Wikiislam,s author in his mocking says that this story of Dhul Qaranain was a popular  fable described by a storyteller of that time and Muhammad SAW put the same in Quran. We question him that if that was popular fable of that time then why the people of that time who surely would have heard it did not ask Muhmmad SAW that why you have put a story in Quran (Nauzbillah).Even his enemies did not do so and there is no such tradition present.We ask that these verses of Holy Quran also resemble Cyrus the great and his journey.It means that it is also a story.So first make a complete research and then mock.
(If anyone have any arguement or objection regarding this or any article then please comment or message at imtiazbashir7@gmail.com)

Above account clearly indicates that Geo Centerism is not mentioned in Quran. It is mentioned in Bible and Hindu scriptures. Here are few proofs;
The Bible suggests that the earth is a flat disc (flat circle) standing on pillars:
"He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.  (From the NIV Bible, Psalm 104:5)"
"He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble.  (From the NIV Bible, Job 9:6)"
"Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand.  (From the NIV Bible, Job 38:4)"
"that it might take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it?  (From the NIV Bible, Job 38:13)"
"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers.  He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.  (From the NIV Bible, Isaiah 40:22)"  The earth being a "circle" means it is a flat disc.  And with the verses above, the earth in the Bible is a flat disc standing on pillars.

The Hindu pagan scriptures suggest that the earth is immovable:
"Sabita made this Earth fixed by different devices (like hills and mountains) and sustains sky without pillars so that it does not move" [RIK VEDA]
"The sky is immovable, the Earth is immovable and these mountains are also immovable" [RIK VEDA 10-173-4]

Does Quran say Sun revolves around the Earth ?

ANSWER TO THE INTERPRETATION OF VERSES 36;37-40;

Now before going into detail of above verses  we quote here the actual wording of wikiislam author about these verses;

" Tellingly, the sun's orbit is almost always mentioned in the context of night and day (13:2 is the only exception) and is always mentioned with that of the moon, which does in fact orbit the Earth each month, and to a naive observer seems to traverse the sky each night when it is visible.

A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf. It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.
Qur'an
This is in a passage about night and day. Right after describing the change from day to night, it says that the sun runs on to a resting place for it. A few translations use instead, "appointed term", though in nearly all other verses where we find قرر as a participle they translate it as a place of settlement or an abode or resting place. There are also sahih hadith that mention the sun's daily cycle using the same Arabic word as in verse 36:38 to mean a resting place Sahih Muslim. The alternative view was that it refers to the sun's final resting on the last day. There are other verses (35:13, 31:29, 39:5, 13:2) that mention the sun and moon floating/swimming (with the same verb as is translated "run" in 36:38) for a term appointed (لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى which does indeed mean term appointed - the word مُسْتَقَرٍّ in 36:38 is a different word). Another version of the above mentioned hadith probably supports this view, with a different ending indicating that the مُسْتَقَرٍّ (resting place) in 36:38 refers to the end of the world when the sun is asked to rise from its setting place (مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا). Whichever interpretation was intended, the sun's movement is nevertheless mentioned right after describing day and night, just as the next verse mentions the different mansions appointed for the moon each night. The whole passage is about day and night and the sun and moon's movement in that context."

Now let us see the original Arabic and detail of these verse;

وآ يةٌ ل هُمُ اللهيْل نسْل خُ مِنْهُ ال ه ن ها ر فإِ ذا هُمْ مُظْ لِمُو ن }7 3
وال ه شمْسُ تجْرِي لِ لِ ك تقْدِيرُ الْ عزِيزِ الْ علِيمِ }
مُسْتقرٍّ ل ها ذ 38 } والْ ق م ر ق ه درْ ناهُ م نازِل ح ه تىَٰ عا د كالْعُرْجُونِ الْ قدِيمِ } 39
Now let us see at the first verse 37; If this verse is taken in its metaphorical meaning then it describes Hazrat Muhammad PBUH as described in Usool e Kafi 8:380/574;

"So Allah Struck an example of Muhammad(SAW) with the sun, and an example of the successors with the moon, and these are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic: “[10:5] He it is Who made the sun a shining brightness and the moon a light”, and His Words: [36:37] And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, so they are in the darkness, and the Words of the Mighty and Majestic: “[2:17] Their parable is like the parable of one who kindled a fire but when it had illumined all around him, Allah took away their light, and left them in utter darkness - they do not see”, meaning, the passing away of Muhammad(SAW) and the appearance of the darkness, so they cannot see the virtues of the People of his Household, and these are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic: “[7:198] And if you invite them to guidance, they do not hear; and you see them looking towards you, yet they do not see”

If this verse is taken in its other sense then it may refers to day breaking after night regarding beautiful natural scenery.It simply says that sun is in motion but does not says that around Earth.This motion described can be taken in different senses. The verse says that it is moving toward its ultimate destiny.

VERSE # 38-39

These verses have  biggest demor of non Muslims on them.We ask from non-Muslims who say that these verses refer to geocenterism that where in these verses written that Earth is the center and all the universe is rotating around it.If this verse(38) is taken in its other sense then it may refers to day breaking after night regarding beautiful natural scenery.It simply says that sun is in motion but does not says that around Earth.This motion described can be taken in different senses. The verse says that it is moving toward its ultimate destiny.Now let us look that which motions can be:

1. In literal sense it can be taken as that it is going to be dead one day.As in our literal and personal talks we say like He is going to be destroyed etc.Similarly it can also mean that sun is going toward its ultimate destiny.It is going to be dead one day.It will have no heat and no diameter.As modern science confirms that sun will die out one day like other stars. see Popular Astronomy by Cammile Flammarian page 79 and King Fisher science Encyclopedia by Charles Taylor page 395.

Verse #39

The verse 39 refers to the phases of moon on which many books are written.These phases are described as token,which means a point to ponder.This token is described in beautiful literal way and the simile an old shrivelled palm-leaf is used.So by describing these things it asks us to ponder over the phases of moon.

Verse #40

لَ ال ه شمْسُ ينْ بغِي ل ها أ نْ تُدْرِ ك ا ل ق م ر و لَ اللهيْل سابِقُ ال ه ن هارِ وكُلٌّ فِي فل كٍ يسْ بحُو ن } 40

Now this verse says that it is not possible for sun to catch moon , We ask how it refers to Geo centerism. But it gives many other points to ponder like why sun cannot catch Earth. By thinking we get answers like;

1. Sun has gravity greater than moon.
2. Sun is rotating faster around its axis and with Milky way but moon has lower speed than sun. and so on.

This verse also gives a sense that the center of rotation of sun and earth is not same.Hence it refutes Geo centerism than to accept it.

In the second part of verse 40 Allah says that night cannot come before day.It also means that Day was created before night.Hence also gives the sense of Earth before Big Bang that when there was day whole and not night than night came.

In the third part of verse it is said that each of them (universe objects) are floating in sky. It means the motion of milky way.The word used in Arabic is Kullu it means each is moving hence the whole galaxy is moving.It is now scientifically proven that Milky way is also moving in sky around another galaxy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHMvS9odjOs. this video also describes the motion of Milky way
sun

Now we ask wikiislam that why this verse could not refer to the motion of milky way. wikiIsalam made open lie by saying that these verses refer to the motion of sun around earth.So open your eyes and see what these verses refer.

Answer on Hadiths Quoted By WikiIslam''

Both these hadiths refer to the motion of sun near qiyamat. The time when sun wil die out. Hence having its gravity reduced nearly equal to zero so may happen different motions.

Reply on their repititive arguments;

The argued that motion of sun and moon is described just after night so it is Geo centerism. This is absurd argument because it is not written that sun movements causing day and night. If one discuss one thing after other it does not mean that necessarily they are interrelated.

more details about these verses can be seen in Tafseer e Namoona under these verses.

Answer to Further verses quoted by wikiislam;

And He it is Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. They float, each in an orbit.
Qur'an 21:33
Some try to explain away the Qur'anic description of the sun moving in an orbit as a reference to our sun orbiting the black hole at the center of the milky way galaxy every 225 million years. This is an Ad hoc hypothesis, of no relevance to human time scales, and nothing from the text implies that the sun is orbiting anything other than the earth. If the author had knowledge of the sun orbiting a black hole then it is conspicuous that he never mentions it explicitly nor in any way differentiates the sun's orbit from that of the moon
Above we have quoted what wikiislam had sad on verse 21;33.

Now let us look at this verse;
1. Allah describes that Allah is the One who created sun,moon day and night.Sun and moon float in an orbit
2.Where is written that they both float around earth.
3.Where is it written that they cause day and night.
4.The question arises that how they float;
The floating of sun is clear to everyone that it rotates around earth.
Wikiislam,s author in its knowledgelessness says that their is no motion associated with sun except to move around earth,and one adhoc hypothesis of its motion around the center of milky ways.In simple words it does not move about its axis.Now let us see how it made an open lie against the motion of sun about its axis;
Galileo discovered from the movement of sunspots that the Sun rotates on its own axis, and each revolution takes about an earth month. However, because the Sun is fluid not solid, it spins faster at its equator (27 days) than at the poles (35 days).

Above is a simple reference where many of non Muslims accepted the motion of sun around its axis.Why not the above discussed verse describes this motion.

Hence it is proved that author of wikiislam tried to mislead poor people by saying that Holy Quran says that sun rotates but it does not. So be aware of these people.

The Second Verse 31;29

Hast thou not seen how Allah causeth the night to pass into the day and causeth the day to pass into the night, and hath subdued the sun and the moon (to do their work), each running unto an appointed term; and that Allah is Informed of what ye do?
Notice also that the running / floating of the sun is something that the author expects people to have seen (another problem for the galactic orbit interpretation).
Reply1
1.Firstly this verse starts with Hast Thou not seen (Alam Tara in Arabic).These words are used to provide stress.In other words they mean have not you pondered over.
 2.Hence we refute the words used by wikiislam.org that Allah had expected for someone to see.It would have been so if the words used were (lam tara), these stressed words describe that Allah wanted us to ponder over the passing of day and night and motion of sun and moon.
3.The words used (wa sakhar al shamsa wa al qamar kullu yajri ila ajal im musamma) means that each is working until an appointed term and a day will come when sun will die and stars will die as described in another verse of Quran81;1
When the sun is wrapped in darkness.
4. The translation "' each is working until an appointeed term" makes better sense than translation "each is moving".as described in Tafseer e namoona vol17 page 80
The Third verse 91-1:2
By the Sun and his (glorious) splendour; By the Moon as she follows him;
The Arabic word translated "follow" is primarily defined as to follow, go or walk behind, follow in way of immitation, of action etc. and is often used for animals like camels following behind each other. Yet the Moon does not actually follow behind the sun's movement, nor does it provide its own light like the sun. The verse is suggestive of a worldview in which the moon and sun traverse the same or similar paths after one another, which is what a 7th century person might believe from observing the sky. The choice of word is not suggestive merely of appearing one after the other.

Above you have read the commentar of wikiislam,s author. Now see the real meaning which is a metaphor described by our Imams;Usool e Kafi 8:12/50.
‘I asked Abu Abdullah(AS) about the Words of Allah Mighty and Majestic [91:1] I swear by the sun and its brilliance, he said: ‘The ‘Sun’ is Rasool-Allah by whom Allah Illuminated for the people, their Religion’. I said, ‘(What about) [91:2] And the moon when it follows the sun?’ He said: ‘That is Amir-ul-Momineen. Hea followed the Rasool-Allah, and he emitted with the Knowledge, an inspiration’.

‘From Ibn Abbas regarding the Words of Allah Mighty and Majestic [91:1] I swear by the sun and its brilliance, he said, ‘He is the Prophet(SAW)’. [91:2] And the moon when it follows the sun, he said, ‘Ali Bin Abu Talib(AS)’.taweel ul ayat 2;6/806
We think that these two hadiths are enough to show what the meaning of this verse is.Is it possible for Almighty God to swear of sun and moon?
The Fourth Verse;
Abraham said, ‘Indeed Allah brings the sun from the east; now you bring it from the west.’ So the disbeliever was overwhelmed [by astonishment], and Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
Qur'an 2:258
Here the Qur'an quotes a few lines from a debate between Abraham and a disbelieving King, where Abraham replies that Allah brings the sun (yatee biashshamsi يَأْتِى بِٱلشَّمْسِ) from the east. The arabic verb and preposition indicates that the sun actually moves. The verb means to come, and when it has an object with the bi preposition it means to bring, as in many other instances in the Qur'an. While the story is quoting a mere human's words, the author clearly believes it to be a good response and sees no problem with it.

Abraham (AS) 1813 BCE- 1644BCE was present in the era when the people believed only what they see with their eyes, the result of which Namrood was accepted as king and his arguments were acceptable to people. Hazrat Ibraheem AS went there to preach the right religion if he had said that my Allah makes the Earth to move like that sun appears to be risen from East,then surely people at that time did not believe him .So he (AS) made the right speech which could be acceptable to all moreover Namrood was also declared wrong.It is the first stone of right religion to make people believe in right fact when a prophet is sure that people will accept him.
Secondly,the sentence sun rises in the East and sets in the west is also a common sentence used by several muslims and non muslims.It is also known as universal truth in grammers. So he (AS) used the best words.He was not telling why and how it happens? He was saying that it happens then if you can change ,change it.
Thirdly there are thousands of newspapers articles that say that sun rises in the east and sets in the west.This phrase is of common use these days even one everyone knows that Earth is moving.Then what have been of this phrase when there people believed what they see.
